Local nepo baby James Marshall Jr. is poised to take over his father’s vast engineering firm upon his impending retirement. However, Marshall, in ironic yet common fashion, criticized local disabled woman Sabrina Johnson for being unable to hold down a job.
Johnson, facing eviction, turned to GoFundMe to make her rent payments on time, since the welfare programs in which she currently partakes have proven themselves inadequate to provide a basic standard of living.
Marshall, who is Johnson’s neighbor, saw her around the neighborhood and took the opportunity to start an unprovoked and inane argument with her — a tactic that, for the sake of inflated self-importance, he likes to refer to as “debating.”
“Mooching off the government wasn’t enough, huh? You had to beg for money on the internet directly?” chided Marshall. Johnson, knowing Marshall already has a massive inheritance in his bank account and will soon own a company in a field about which he has almost no knowledge, pointed out that Marshall is in no place to talk, having never faced any pressure to work in his entire life.
Marshall, with his ego hurt a bit, still failed to do an ounce of self-reflection.
“At least I don’t leech off the government!” yelped Marshall, seemingly unaware that he owes the entirety of his comfort and opulence to the fact that he, as a matter of course, leeches off the labor of his dad’s employees.
Coming to his son’s defense, James Marshall Sr. weighed in. “I worked hard to build my company, and Jimmy will work hard to keep it thriving!” he said, wholly discounting the combined effort of thousands of employees whose labor he exploits.
