Tragedy: Doctor Expected to Do Her Job

Dr. Kayla Fisher, a general practitioner, has been left confused and disturbed after being subjected to the harrowing experience of a patient asking her to order diagnostic testing for their chronic pain.

“I mean – I went through eleven years of medical school,” said Fisher. “They’re in no place to be telling me what to do!”

The patient, Spencer Lawrence, told reporters they’ve suffered from “chronic muscle and joint pain with no known explanation for the past three years, and recently requested that Dr. Fisher refer them to an imaging center for an MRI”.

“I’m talking to a brick wall at this point,” Lawrence said. “This is like, the seventh referral she’s refused. I got a blood test a year ago – nothing came up – and now she won’t listen to a single word that comes out of my mouth.”

Fisher will be taking an extended leave of absence from practicing medicine to recover from this traumatic event. Lawrence attempted to schedule an appointment with a different doctor upon hearing this information – and is still waiting on a call back.
