School Administrators Fear Universal Accommodations ‘Too Helpful’ for Everyone

In a breakthrough development for education policy, school administrators across the US have now officially cautioned teachers against being too helpful to students of all abilities.

It’s all part of an effort to further marginalize and ridicule students with exceptionalities into feelings of shame and grief. Scores of superintendents and other school administrators have issued a joint statement pushing back against the attitude that accommodations and resources need to be universally accepted and normalized.

The statement reads, in part:

“We started noticing a trend of genuine compassion and desire to help from teachers and their in-class support partners across the country, and we knew that this just could not stand.”

After a few teaching teams got the idea to offer numerous accommodations normally reserved for people with learning disabilities to their entire class roster, and even expand accommodations using their own money, the Alliance for Suppression of Schooling and Educational Successes (ASSES) sprang into action.

The joint statement continues:

“We cannot tolerate teaching teams offering thorough class notes to every student and making students with disabilities feel safe and included. This is tantamount to offering stilts to tall kids. Sure, there’s no reason to think students use things they don’t need, but accommodations of that nature have always been exclusionary and begrudging! If we don’t put a stop to this now, rote memorization will fade away as a crucial aspect of testing, or grading will disappear!”

The ASSES told the Squeaky Wheel that they’re clenching in fear of what comes next.
