Disabled Americans have been shocked to discover that the official PDF file detailing the policy objectives of the ultra-conservative Project 2025 is actually completely accessible.
Formally called the 2025 Presidential Transitional Plan, the proposed agenda would overhaul the federal government, dismantling certain agencies and propping up others.
Right-wing organization the Heritage Foundation spearheaded the project and generously created a 922-page PDF that complies with almost all accessibility standards.
“I was pleasantly taken aback that my screen reader worked with most sections of the document,” said blind voter Jerry Barrot, listening in horror to the proposal on page 331 to severely cut or entirely eliminate federal special education funding. “It had trouble with a few graphs, but I could tell what they said based on context.”
The easy layout allows almost every disabled American to understand every detail of the rollback of their rights.
“I was worried I would have trouble accessing the important stuff,” said veteran Abigail Marsh, referring to the promises on page 104 to end funding for abortion and gender reassignment surgery for service members. “But the PDF was formatted to be searchable.”
Most people had assumed that the document wouldn’t be accessible, but fortunately the Project 2025 PDF was released before the implementation of Project 2025.
