Opinion: I’ve Seen You Use a Wheelchair, So You Don’t Really Need Those Legs

Hey, you, Legs! Yeah, you! Don’t you normally use a wheelchair like me? But now you’re standing. I know you don’t really need those limbs.

I’m certain I’ve seen you at that grocery store, rolling around normally, grabbing things off the bottom shelf. Why are you suddenly strolling through this parking lot, pretending like you can’t wheel? Oh, I’m definitely taking pictures of this!

Sometimes you have to walk? Why, when you can sit? Sciatica? That doesn’t sound real. I’ve never heard of that.

Are you trying to get attention? You’re probably posting “A day in the life of a walker” on TikTok. Being all, “Let’s pity this poor guy who has to walk around because his butt nerves are all pinched up.” Boo friggin’ hoo.

Or are you doing it for the money? You saw how much people who can’t roll get from those free handouts. What are they called… “Jobs?” Yeah, I bet you’re collecting ability checks.

Let me guess: That car with no accessible parking badge you’re driving belongs to some young, fit relative? Typical… you probably use regular bathroom stalls, too.

It’s honestly infuriating — my sister has to walk, and she can’t go anywhere without getting stares because of frauds like you!

Look, if I ram into the back of your knees with my chair — oh, stop yelling — and, there! See! You’re on my lap, and we’re rolling around perfectly fine. I knew you could wheel! Look, everybody! Look at this liar!

Oh, of course you would tuck and roll. Fine, run away! Now you’re just flaunting it!
